About this DJ

Ministry of Sound (Smoove) resident Dj Chippie, is one of the world's hottest International RnB and Hip Hop DJs, his mix cds are blasted out of every RnB lover's stereo in London. He started out on the 1's and 2's at the age of 17 way back in 1996, hosting his own club nights with life-long friend Dj Sterling in South London, and pushing out his own RnB mix tapes. In 1998 Chippie met MVP & Red Hot club promoter Yogi De Silva, who on seeing his potential, incorporated Chippie into his weekly London club nights, and getting him DJ sets alongside MTV's RnB supremo Trevor Nelson, supporting some of the biggest RnB acts such as 112, Next, Dru Hill, Lemar & Jay Sean. This exposure led to Chippie being asked to host the annual Hip Hop summit in Finland in 2001.

In 2003, Chippie's 'StrictlyOld School' mixtape landed in the lap of Michelle Hunter, the multi award-winning promoter of the world's biggest Urban Club brand – Smoove at Ministry of Sound, London. After ripping up a 4 hour trial set in the baby box, Chippie was then featured on the DJ line-up on a weekly basis, cementing his place alongside the top Urban club djs in the industry, performing alongside celebrities such as Missy Elliot, Jay Z, Timbaland, Bobby Valentino, Tim Westwood, the Sugababes and many more. Ministry of Sound then sent him to Ibiza, Ireland, and all over the UK to play for Smoove tour events. Chippie's old school RnB and Hip Hop cd was also used by Smoove to promote the brand worldwide.

In 2006, Chippie was flown to Sri lanka to launch the 'Battery energy drink' brand at various venues in Sri lanka. In 2007, Chippie started his own successful RnB club night – Get off the Wall, which celebrated its 1st birthday in October 2008. The launch party was held at the last ever Smoove event @ Ministry of Sound London, and has been a monthly feature at various city venues ever since, making its name as one of the hottest RnB nights in the Capital.
