About this DJ

Music is in my blood as I am the grandson of a well know Trinidadian saxophonist from the 1960's-1980's. My uncles and other relatives on my mothers sides also play instruments. Not to mention my dad is a very avid record collector. Old school Soul, Jazz, Calypso and Motown was inbred into me from a young age. I just decided to pick up a different instrument. Turntables. My love for music spans many genres as I was born in England, but was brought up in Trinidad from a very young age. My dad is actually from Saudi Arabia, and even though he loves Soul and Motown, he also let me listen to the music of his culture, from Arabic Classical to Arabic Pop. As I grew older my musical liking expanded into Hip-Hop, R&B, Reggae, Dancehall, you name it once it had a beat to move to I liked it. So playing music became not just a hobby but a passion, as I started collecting music. I listened to music whenever I got a chance. My cousin was also a DJ so I used to tag along with him when he played out and the vibe I got just took over me. I was 16 then and that feeling has been with me since, but because I had other priorities, college & uni, did not do my first gig until I was 19. But officially I will say I've been at it for about 10 years. I do play a lot of Hip Hop, R&B and Soca, but I have an open format. What You want I play it. Most DJs stick to one format, they don't try to veer away from the normal stuff, whatever is trendy. Because of my musical likes and upbringing, I feel when I DJ I try to bring something a little bit different every time. Wether it be a remix I created or a set with songs you haven't heard or heard in a while. I pride myself on being versatile.
