DJ Biography:

Dj Flex's interest for music started at a very young age and always wished to make it in the djing industry. "I remember going to a record store when I was aged 10 and buying Michael Jackson's BAD album. This was the first ever record I bought and learnt to mix with". Flex got the inspiration of djing from old skool djs who had been in the game for a long time i.e. Dj Qbert, Mixmaster Mike, the Xecutioners, Jam Master Jay (R.I.P) and many more. At the age of 15, Flex got a pair of 1210s Technics turntables as a birthday present and it is from that time when he started learning how to mix, scratch, blend,etc. "I picked up the whole art of djing from watching Disco Mixing Championships videos and listening to mixtapes done by other djs. I invested a lot of my time into learning the skill of djing. Whilst my peers were busy enjoying their childhood life, I spend a lot of time in my bedroom djing and making mixtapes" My other inspiration of djing was my cousin 'DJ BONDE',who was a club dj at that time. Through hard work and determination Dj Flex managed to break through from bedroom mixing to djing at parties and school functions. Flex managed to make a name for himself in Southend, Essex and most people recognised him. At the age of 18, Dj Bonde (Flex's cousin) made Dj Flex part of their Djing entourage,'Boogie Down Family' and that's the time when he got the first exposure to the club scene. "I used to carry their record bags and in return they would let me do a warm up set". Flex was part of the crew for two years then decided to do his own thing. Moving to London was another break through for Flex even though there was a lot of competition. He was a resident dj at a number of clubs around London such as Fusion Nite Spot in Woolwich, Club Mission in Southall, Quake in Woking, The Star in Harrow and a lot more. Flex wishes to expand his djing career even further. .
