Originally from highly energetic Grime collective “SLK,” DJ Policy (aka Gary Sovereign) is quickly making a name for himself in the ever-expanding EDM community. Policy championed himself by playing a variety of genres including Garage, House, Hip Hop & Dancehall which made him one of the most versatile dj’s in the uk. Starting off in his local pub playing for free, Policy’s slick approach to his open format dj sets soon landed him bookings at Ministry Of Sound, Scala, The Forum, Camden Palace and Sound Leicester Sq. After that initial success, Policy’s name became extremely popular amongst the major labels and it wasn’t long before BMG (now known as SonyBMG) asked him to become one of there official in house dj’s which meant Policy was a headliner playing at major industry launch parties including, Justin Timberlake, Usher, R Kelly, Destinys Child, Beyonce, Alicia Keys and many more. Outside of this policy also played at other high profile industry parties and concerts for Naz, Missy Elliot, Bustah Rhymes, Sean Paul, Dizzy Rascal, Chipmunk, Wiley, Tempa T, So Solid Crew and many more. Policy has aslo collaborated with some of the leading DJ’s in the scene such as Cameo, Charlie Sloth, CJ Beats, Rampage, Heartless Crew, Trevor Nelson & Tim Westwood. It wasn’t long till Internationally renowned urban outfit TwiceasNice picked up his craft and Policy became a resident and a permanent fixture in Ibiza, Aiya Napa, Kavos & Bulgaria. This aloud him to get further international works in Ghana, Portugal & Amsterdam. In most recent times an impressive series of mixes has put the spotlight on the London-based DJ, and have been co-signed by the likes of Wretch 32, Wiley, Dappy & Jamma. Well respected amongst his pears for his DJ exploits Policy soon turned his attention to what he describes as a fusion of Hip Hop, Grime and Dubstep. ‘’I love EDM Trap.
