Dj Rickochet's passion for music led him to start Dj-ing from the age of 15. Inspired by the hip and trendy club vibes across Manchester during the late 1980s (Hacienda and Wiggly Worm), and the talent of other Dj's (Stu Allen and The Rude Boy Assassins) his music career was warmed and is now at boiling point.
Known amongst his professional peers as a 'creative precisionist' he has adopted an original style of mixing that has made him an influence to many throughout the years. He is a gifted Dj who is well respected and looked upon as a great pioneer.
Renowned for his great versatility of play from genres across the board, he was also a key member of the Award winning 'Midnight Lick Crew' (1997 - 2003).
Typical play-lists during his 4 year residency at Club Havana (1999 - 2003) included a mixture of vocal garage, 2 step and 4/4. A sound clash play off at this Club was judged by the crowd themselves, and Dream Team's (London) Mikee B. DJ Rickochet took the victory over tough competition from Nottingham.
The radio shows he delivered and presented dominated Manchester's R&B, Jungle and Dancehall scenes (1993 - present day). Sting FM, Buzz FM, Love Energy, Frontline, Touch FM, All FM, Unity, and at present internet station Vogue fm all continue to raise his popularity.
Dj Rickochet says, "It's not what you play, but the way that you play it that matters. Dj-ing is an art-form - not simply picking up the needle and putting it in the groove. You have to take the crowd on a musical train journey by testing, teasing and feeding the people. Keep them guessing, reminiscing and dancing on their feet!! This way the party always feels like it just getting started.... I love it when the tunes I play charge the crowd and create an electrical energy."
