I began DJing at the age of 13, in 2000. I had been collecting both Nu and 60's Soul for well over a year at that point, this developed into a passion for DJing. I started out at local Soul nights building my way up the DJ heirarchy on the Soul Scene whilst also building my reputation as a DJ. After spending two years building my reputation up I got the chance to become resident at one of the North West's most popular Northern Soul nights. Following on from this I performed at the biggest Soul weekender in the UK in October 2002, Togetherness Blackpool. This performance was broadcast live on Solar radio and helped to propel me further, as a direct result of this I was asked to become a resident at the re-launched Rocket Soul all - nighters in London.
In 2004, I joined the DJ team for a Soul music convention in Los Angeles which saw over 500 attendees. Later this year I also began writing for various Soul music and general music and lifestyle magazines, casting my eye over the latest releases and event news. This helped me to cut my teeth in basic music journalism something I still work with today.
2005 and along with my residencies I was asked to DJ on the aftershock stage at Dpercussion Manchester in August, this helped me open up to a new rowd playing Soulful Grooves.
2006 again saw my usual round of residencies and guest sets building well and in January of that year I was given the privelage at DJing at the Luxury Soul Weekender at the Hilton Blackpool, playing on the same line up as Ledisi, Lenny Williams, Steve Harvey and Pretty Terry.
2007 saw me given another fantastic opportunity and my first gig on the continent playing to over 500 at the Frankfurt Soul Weekender alongside one of the UK's most legendary Soul DJ's Terry Jones. I also performed at the Luxury Soul Weekender in Birmingham and performed at new nights in Newcastle and Manchester.
