VIP started his career playing on Birminghams underground station Silkcity at the age of 17. Almost as soon as he was 18 VIP had managed to secure a weekly residency at a club in Solihull called RB's. His efforts in his radio work soon payed off in 2004 when he was chose to be a midlands representative for the Def Jam UK street team. As part of the team he got to interview some of the best UK talents around, and to date has interviewed artists like Lloyd, Chamillionaire, Kano, TAZ, Omar, Raghav, Rhiann Benson and, former Mis-teeq member Alesha Dixon. VIP has played at various venues across the UK and all across the midlands, and has held down many residencies. A special event called 'Forever R&B' even saw VIP playing alongside the likes of MOBO award winner Steve Sutherland. In the summer of 2005 VIP travelled out to corfu to work in a bar called 'Calypso' in the northern resort Sidari, He was then asked to return and did so in 2007 to play in the resorts' main club 'Ice' VIP currently holds a residencies at 'Tramps Nightclub' in Worcester town centre and 'The Breakfast Club' (B'ham). VIP now has a weekly show on Silkcity fm on a sunday evening 5-7, where he mixes down 2 hours of the biggest Hip-Hop/R&B tracks alongside DJ Unknown.
